HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN UPTON JUNIORS?
You can try playing rugby with us for two weeks for free. We're sure you'll love it and if you do our annual subscription is just £40 per child and £70 for two ore more.
WHAT AGE CAN MY CHILD JOIN UPTON JUNIORS?
Our micros start from just 5 years old. Our tag rugby playing teams start with the Under 7s with contact rugby teams starting at under 9s. We have teams for every age group there after.
IS PLAYING RUGBY SAFE?
As an affiliated RFU club we take child safety and welfare very seriously. All our age grade teams train and play in accordance with the strict regulations of the game which gradually introduce, at age appropriate stages, key elements of the game such as tackling, rucking, mauling and the scrum. Our coaching staff include first aid trained individuals. Matches and training sessions are operated on a safety first basis. Upton Juniors has its own dedicated child welfare officer.
WHERE & WHEN DO WE TRAIN & PLAY?
The season starts in September. Matches are played either at home or away between October and April. Training and home matches are held at Upton Rugby Club every Sunday usually from 1030am to 1pm. Upton Juniors operates a PLAY LOCAL policy so all our away matches are with clubs within 15 miles of Upton making participation more accessible.
IS SPECIALIST KIT REQUIRED?
Rugby/Football boots, weather appropriate sports wear such as shorts, tshirts, training tops, etc. On match days we provide team kit. All contact rugby players need to have a gum shield. The club operates a BOOT EXCHANGE SCHEME helping to keep the costs down.
